Orchards used for grazing

A grazed orchard is a farming system that combines grazing with fruit production. It uses standard trees and has a lower planting density than conventional orchards.

The synergy between the animals and the trees is remarkable in this system. The sheep keep the grass under control whilst feeding on rotten fruit, whilst the trees provide them with shade and shelter from the elements. This cooperation enables the production of high-quality drinks, without the use of pesticides, characterised by a rich variety of fruit types.
